Best Debut Film Award:

The jury this time has decided to add two more commendations in addition to the existing prizes. The jury selects for a special commendation, City of Photos by Nishtha Jain from India for making a multi layered film, for its skillful attention to form and for making a highly reflective film about the nature of representation itself.
Special Jury Award:
The special jury award goes to Final Solution by Rakesh Sharma from India recognizing it as a powerful testimony to one of the most horrific events in the recent history of the sub-continent. For synthesizing immediate documentary evidence with a historical investigation of the greater political crisis of our times.
Second Best Film Award:
The Second Prize is shared by two films. To I for India by Sandhya Suri from the U.K and India for showing that filmmaking after all is about telling a human story well. For crafting an immensely moving film that lifts ordinary home movie footage and weaves it into a depiction of a larger human condition.
This award is shared by A Certain Liberation by Yasmine Kabir from Bangladesh. For its poignant character portrait that provides a complex insight into one of the biggest historical tragedies of the sub-continent. And for the empathy that the film shows for its subject.
Ram Bahadur Trophy for Best Film:
The first prize goes to Continuous Journey by Ali Kazimi from Canada and India for proving once again that there are no limits to imagination. For creating a powerful film out of scarce source material. For bringing to light a lesser-known historical event and giving it a powerful contemporary relevance. For its meticulous research and highly creative blending of animation, sound and archival material.
