Synopsis

The documentary tells the story of Achoubi, a widow who seeks to protect indigenous Manipuri ponies through her inclusive engagement with the species. She believes in the ancient wisdom of sharing and being an integral partner in the natural space we inhabit, rather than owning living space for an exclusive existence.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Dr. Meena Longjam, an independent filmmaker, receive a national award for her documentary Autodriver. In 2015, she launched Airameen Media to produce films on women’s empowerment and to publish books related to media and the arts. Autodriver premiered at the Signs film festival in Kerala (2015), winning the Special Jury Award, and also won special mention at the Woodpecker International Film Festival. Longjam’s recent short film Echo was recognized at the Peace Builders’ International Film Festival in 2016. She is Assistant Professor at the Manipur University of Culture.
