Synopsis

The film is about the phanek, a garment similar to a sarong, worn by Manipuri women in northeastern India. It begins with the earliest memories of the filmmaker and goes on to discover how women use the phanek as a medium of protest in challenging masculinity.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Sonia Nepram is a post-graduate in mass communication from the AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and has been working on various media and audio-visual projects. She has also set up the production house Yelhoumee Pictures.
