Sawari is a short film that shows the reality and difficulty common people face in Kathmandu during a diplomat’s travel through the city. It is cinematographer Bishnu Kalpit’s first attempt at directing and editing a film.

Widely recognized as one of the finest cinematographers working in Nepal both for fiction and non-fiction films, Bishnu Kalpit is the winner of the National Award for Cinematography and National Advertising Award (CRITY) for camera work. He has been nominated for an Emmy and has won a Silver Award in Cinematography at the New York Film Festival. He has been a cinematographer for many prestigious national and international Television and Film Companies and has worked with some of the finest national and international filmmakers and journalists, including Oscar-nominated Director Eric Valli and Emmy nominated Journalist Subina Shrestha.
