Synopsis

Gauri Lankesh was among Karnataka’s most prominent and fearless journalists, writing and bringing out a publication in Kannada. She was shot outside her home in Bengaluru on the night of 5 September 2017. Gauri spoke out against communal forces that sought to divide society, and was an avid advocate for free speech. The film follows her political journey, envisaging what she stood for and her struggle for communal harmony. Her life continues to inspire Karnataka’s fight against right-wing communal forces.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Pradeep K.P. (Deepu) co-founded Pedestrian Pictures in 2001, a Bangalore-based film collective, actively engaged in film screenings, documentary-making and cultural/ political activism. He’s also a cinematographer with several narrative feature films, ad films and documentaries to his credit. He has previously taught at colleges across South India.
