Synopsis

This is the definitive story of Abdus Salam, Nobel Prize winner. The film captures in vivid detail his life’s journey — from a small village in Pakistan to worldwide scientific acclaim —and his fraught relationship with his homeland, where he faced rejection for being a member of the ‘heretical’ Ahmadiyya sect.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Anand Kamalakar is a Brooklyn-based film director, producer and editor. He has directed The Gowanus Canal, Chief Engineer Conrad, Citizen Sharma, Building Bridges, 300 Miles to Freedom and Garwin (premiered at the Mumbai International Film Festival). Heart of Stone, which he recently produced and edited, has won over ten awards. Kamalakar recently edited the feature documentary David Bromberg: Unsung Treasure, which was televised on PBS nationwide.
