Synopsis

A biographical documentary about the life of Sharmila Tagore, the illustrious film actor. The documentary uses interviews and visuals to retrace her life, starting from childhood, to being cast in Satyajit Ray’s film at the age 14, to the glitz and glamour of the Bombay film industry. The film also delves into her relationship with Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan and her choices that have impacted women who came after her.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Umang Sabarwal is an alumnus of AJK MCRC Jamia Millia Islamia. She has worked in video production and short films. She was also founder of a movement titled Slut Walk arthaat Besharmi Morcha in New Delhi. Besides non-fiction films, she likes experimenting with form and is partial to stop motion animation.
