Over ten years in Afghanistan, The Boy Mir tracks cheeky, enthusiastic Mir from a childish eight to a fully grown 18-year-old. This is a journey into early adulthood in one of the toughest places on earth, and a journey that mirrors the vitally important story of Afghanistan.

His cinema films include The Boy who Plays on the Buddhas of Bamiyan, which has played worldwide and, to date, has won 13 awards, including first prize at Valladolid International Film Festival and the Gold Hugo in Chicago for Best Film, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.
