The Dreaming Vendors follows the lives of Bangladeshi migrants caught in the web of cross-coastal human trafficking. The film explores the extraordinarily horrific journey the migrants endure in search of better economic opportunities.
[director]Ahmed Abid is filmmaker and the artistic director of the Human Rights Film Festival in Thailand. He has extensive work experience in television and new media and has worked in India, Cambodia, Thailand, and Bangladesh. Abid received his MA in Human Rights and Social Development from Mahidol University, Thailand, including a diploma from the European Inter-University Center for Human Rights and Democratisation on Cinema and Human Rights from Italy. The Dreaming Vendors is his first work. Recently, he completed another documentary film on the election in Afghanistan, titled Votes Echoing Hope.[/director]
