Synopsis

Born to a prosperous Muslim household in Kerala, at age 19, Mumtaz Ali left home for the Himalaya in search of a spiritual master. Now known as Sri M for ‘Manushya’ or human, he urges people to understand the uniting core of all religions and humanity. In 2015, he undertook a 7500 km peace march across India, touching at least a million lives along the way. The film tracks the walk and the people who became part of it.

ABOUT DIRECTOR

Akash Chopra wears multiple hats as actor, musician and filmmaker. In late 2014, he wrote, starred and co-directed a short film based on a play of the same name called The Interogation of Guru Kartaar Singh. In 2015, Chopra acted in and directed a new media venture Mr. Lieutenant Radio that premiered at the Hong Kong Pineapple Underground Festival and also screened at the 3rd Indian Cine Film Festival in Mumbai. Walking with M is his first feature length documentary
